Balance mind, body, soul, and spirit

Dr. Bill Koppin is an energy healer. His practice is rooted in the Shamanic ways of the ancient cultures of North and South America. The Hopi, Mayan, Incan and the Q'ero. Dr. Bill, OD, is a doctor of optometry. For the past twenty years, he has owned and operated Shades Optical in Birmingham, Michigan. Shades is a high-end optical store with the finest eyewear and the most advanced optometry practice. Shades operates it's own lab and is committed to the finest quality of medical attention, service and culture.

Bill's healing work is focused upon our needs in this ever-changing and modern world, guiding people to balance mind, body, soul and spirit.

We are all on a mythic journey, a journey inward. Each of us has a map of this journey, which serves as a tool and helps us make sense of our purpose. Sometimes this map gets blocked. The Shaman healing practice aligns our luminous body, brings us into sync with our natural rhythms and therefore allows us to transform. We free ourselves of obstacles, and travel the journey to become who we truly wish to become. This process is about clarity of perception. The mythic journey is the path we follow in order to transform our lives.

It is a new world in which we live, and thriving in spiritualism no longer means running off to a monastery on a spiritual quest. We need to be present in this new world and do this work in our daily lives. This takes clear intention. Dr. Bill's practice allows people to step into their highest possibility by giving them the tools needed to do so, without judgment. In his words, we are perfectly imperfect It's the details that makes good things great.

"We need to get out of the fight-or-flight mode. This fight-or-flight instinct invokes avoidance, fear, frantic action, chaos and anger. The Shamans conjure the panther down from the tree, as protector, to help guide and shed this way of being. Once the destructive fight-or-flight mentality is shed, we begin the process towards balance, allowing the body and mind to heal.

The goal of the practice is to walk in perfect harmony (ayni). The practice of Ayni involves communicating and sending your love to another, whether it is the earth, another person, a dog, or a tree. Although this is done without expectation in the pure spirit of giving, each time you practive ayni, miraculously you do receive something back.

Ayni is described by one of Q'ero teacher, Antonio Morales as follows:

... The Sun is the father and the Earth is the mother and their parents are one - Illa Tici Viracocha [Wiraccocha] - neither male nor female, energy in its purest form ... This is the basis of all Andean shamanism. It is a principle of reciprocity. You make ayni to the Pachamama, the Mother Earth, and she is pleased and returns your gift with fertility and abundance. You make ayni to the sun, and he returns your gift with warmth and light. The Apus, the great mountain peaks, gibe you strength to endure your work; the heavens give you harmony. make ayni to all people and they will honor you in return. It is a wonderful principle.

They say that the shaman lives in perfect ayni - the universe reciprocates his every action, mirrors his intent back to him, as he is a mirror to others. That is why the shaman lives in synchronically with Nature. The shaman's world mirrors the shaman's will and intent and actions.

Morales states that perfect ayni comes directly from the heart. it is not necessary to analyze our response. Only then is the world a true reflection of our love and our action."
